BOC concludes auction, raises P362k revenues

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) recently conducted a public auction, generating P362,500 in revenue.

During this auction, one lot consisting of 100 pieces of assorted jewelry was sold, weighing a total of 129.64 grams. This included 1.57 carats of diamonds and 0.07 carats of other gemstones.

Public auctions, held in accordance with the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) and Customs Administrative Order (CAO) 03-2020, allow for the disposal of seized, abandoned, and forfeited goods.

Under the leadership of District Collector Yasmin Obillos-Mapa, the Bureau of Customs – Ninoy Aquino International Airport continues to improve its enforcement and disposal processes, contributing to economic growth and enhancing national security.

The bureau has initiated the auction of overstaying and abandoned container vans and shipments filled with various items to generate additional revenue and alleviate congestion at the ports.
