Professional surfer Philmar Alipayo yesterday expressed regrets over the alleged cheating controversy involving a Swedish photographer that went viral online, saying that he and actress Andi Eigenmann are now okay.
On Facebook, he felt sorry over a situation that escalated publicly.
“It all went way too far and should have been handled in private. Ok na kami, sanang ok ra kami,” he wrote.
Eigenmann however has not broken her silence over the matter.
Pernilla Sjöö, the Swedish woman allegedly the cause of the rift between Andi Eigenmann and Philmar Alipayo, earlier posted shared screenshots of her now-private Instagram posts, expressing her distress over the negative comments directed at her.
“I just don’t understand why some people carry so much hate in their minds and bodies. I hope that if you ever make a hurtful comment, you can still sleep peacefully at night, knowing you’ve caused someone pain. I’m still human—I still feel hurt, and when it’s too much, it cuts deep,” she wrote.
She then urged the public to exercise compassion and refrain from passing judgment without knowing the full situation. .
“I hope you never become the reason some cry themselves to sleep or question their worth, wondering why they weren’t good enough. We’re all going through something. Can we at least try to be kinder to one another? I mean no harm to others. If you will be kind to me, I assure you that I’ll be kinder to you. Never judge someone without knowing the whole story. You may think you understand, but you don’t,” added Sjöö.
The photographer was said to be close to Eigenmann and Alipayo before the allegations of cheating erupted. Speculation intensified when netizens noticed that Eigenmann had unfollowed Sjöö on Instagram, fueling further online discussions.
The situation escalated when Eigenmann addressed rumors about her relationship with Alipayo. She clarified that while her fiancé had not been unfaithful, she felt hurt by his actions, particularly his decision to get matching tattoos with Sjöö.
Eigenmann expressed her discomfort, stating that Sjöö had encouraged Alipayo to separate from her during their disputes.
“I am fully aware that my husband never cheated on me with this girl… I am always around when they are together. I posted because this person betrayed me, encouraged my husband to break up with me during every fight, even when I also told my side of the story to her,” the actress wrote on Instagram.
In response to the backlash, Sjöö emphasized the importance of kindness and understanding.
The couple, engaged since 2020, shares two children—Lilo and Koa. In April 2024, they announced that their wedding plans had been put on hold as they were mourning the passing of Eigenmann’s mother, veteran actress Jaclyn Jose.
