Poll firm Social Weather Stations on Wednesday revealed the net satisfaction rating (percent satisfied minus per dissatisfied) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declined 13 points to a “moderate” +19 in December 2024 compared to a “good” +32 in September.
According to the non-commissioned survey, 51 percent of adult Filipinos were satisfied with Mr. Marcos’ performance as President, while 16 percent were undecided and 32 percent were dissatisfied.
Compared to September, gross satisfaction fell from 58 percent, gross undecided hardly moved from 15 percent, and gross dissatisfaction rose from 26 percent.
According to the survey research institute, the President’s net satisfaction rating fell in all areas except Balance Luzon (Luzon outside Metro Manila), in both rural and urban areas, among both men and women, across age groups, and in all educational groups except elementary graduates.
SWS conducted its Fourth Quarter 2024 Social Weather Survey using face-to-face interviews with 2,160 adults nationwide. The sampling error margins are ±2% for national percentages, ±3% in Balance Luzon, and ±5% each for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
Earlier this week, however, a non-commissioned survey released by OCTA Research showed President Marcos continued to enjoy high trust and approval ratings from the majority of Filipinos.
The fourth quarter OCTA survey indicated that 65 percent of adult Filipinos trust Marcos, a modest decrease of 4 percent from 69 percent recorded in the 3rd quarter survey last year.
Similarly, a majority of adult Filipinos, or 64 percent, said they were satisfied with the performance of the President.
