The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has achieved the ISO 9001:2015 certification for its Flight Standards Inspectorate Service (FSIS).

This accomplishment follows four previous attempts over the years, illustrating CAAP’s determination and commitment to continuous improvement and adherence to international quality standards.

The ISO 9001:2015 certification, a globally recognized standard for quality management systems, reflects FSIS’s dedication to operational excellence, the enhancement of passenger safety, and the promotion of public confidence in the Philippine aviation industry. It also strengthens CAAP’s reputation as a leading regulatory body within the global aviation community.

CAAP Director General Manuel Antonio Tamayo praised the FSIS personnel, particularly Captain Florendo Jose Aquino, the Acting Assistant Director General II, for their hard work and dedication.

FSIS is a crucial division within CAAP, responsible for certifying commercial and general aviation operators, as well as approved training and maintenance organizations.  Additionally, FSIS oversees the issuance of airmen licenses, harmonizes regulations across departments, ensures compliance with both national and international standards, and supports the agency’s overall mission to improve Philippine aviation.
