THE Naval Forces West (NAVFORWEST) welcomed Commo. Vincent Sibala as its commander.
Navy flag officer in command Rear Adm. Jose Ma Ambrosio Ezpeleta presided at the change of command for Sibala, held Jan. 6 at Naval Station Apolinario Jalandoon in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
“I am confident that you will continue to lead with integrity and that NAVFORWEST will thrive in meeting the challenges of a rapidly evolving maritime security environment. I am certain you will uphold and advance the Navy’s mission with professionalism and excellence,” Ezpeleta said in his remarks.
Navy chief of staff Rear Adm. Alan Javie relinquished command of the NAVFORWEST after two years and eight months in the post.
Sibala, erstwhile chief of the Littoral Combat Force, Philippine Fleet, becomes the 40th commander of NAVFORWEST.
