PAF ‘Sanay Bagwis’ exercises commence

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) officially kicked off its first iteration of the operational exercise dubbed “Sanay Bagwis” this week at its headquarters in Pasay City.

According to PAF Spokesperson Colonel Maria Consuelo Castillo, the exercise, which will run until October 4, aims to enhance the interoperability of the PAF’s core systems, identify gaps, and develop interventions through the PAF Integrated Air Operations Concept.

“The ‘Sanay Bagwis’ exercise is a critical step in ensuring the PAF’s responsiveness and readiness to meet the challenges of modern warfare and maintain its position as a vital air component of the country’s defense capabilities,” she said.

This exercise will feature two key events: a Tabletop Exercise and a Field Training Exercise.

These activities will be conducted at Villamor Air Base, as well as at the respective locations of PAF Core System Owners and Flying Units, along with other PAF air bases.

During the opening ceremony, Chief of Air Staff MGen Aristotle Gonzalez emphasized the significance of this organizational exercise in identifying and bridging gaps, ensuring that every unit works harmoniously with one another.

He highlighted how these efforts will contribute to the PAF’s capability as a force provider and to the overall operational accomplishments of the Air Force.
