The 9th Field Artillery “Firestorm” Battalion conducted both aerial and ground reconnaissance of the projected training ground over the weekend to ensure comprehensive preparation for the upcoming live fire exercise.
Commander of Charlie Battery 1LT Emilio Golez spearheaded the ground reconnaissance to gain a firsthand assessment of the Center of the Battery, which will be emplaced at Brgy. Doña Josefa in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija, and the impact area at Brgy. Palale in Gen. Tinio, Nueva Ecija.
The Army Artillery stated that this on-the-ground evaluation was crucial for identifying any factors that could affect planning or adjustments needed based on the results of the site survey, ensuring that the exercise would be conducted safely and effectively.
Simultaneously, an aerial reconnaissance was initiated to acquire a broader overview of the training area.
This dual-method approach allowed the battalion to identify potential hazards and assess the overall suitability of the site for the live fire exercise.
