Vice President Sara Duterte sent a letter of support to former Vice Presidential candidate, Doc Willie Ong, wishing him a speedy and complete recovery from cancer.
“I extend my heartfelt support and wish you a speedy and complete recovery,” the VP stated.
“Your courage and optimism deeply moved us all as you shared your diagnosis and ongoing battle with sarcoma. Your strength and positive outlook in such adversity are genuinely inspiring,” she added.
The VP expressed that Doc Willie Ong has touched countless lives including her mother, Elizabeth, who watches the doctor and “prays for mercy and healing.”
“We continue to admire your dedication to promoting health and wellness, which has touched countless lives. Your current journey is a testament to the same spirit of perseverance and hope you have always advocated,” Duterte recounted.
“We stand with you in solidarity during this period,” she concluded.
Ong took to his Facebook Page to thank VP Sara for her letter with the caption “Thank you for the kind words VP Sara. I don’t know why but I am touched by your sincere message.”
Ong wished for peace and harmony to reign in the Philippines and vowed to help once he is stronger.
