The Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Task Force Kalasag confiscated over P17.6 million worth of uncertified products in Davao Del Sur and Davao Del Norte during a five-day enforcement operation.

From September 2 to 6, the task force seized 7,441 products, primarily lead-acid batteries and tires, lacking the required Philippine Standard (PS) markings and Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) stickers.

“Consumer safety is our priority. These uncertified products pose a risk and disrupt fair competition,” said DTI acting secretary Cristina A. Roque.

The task force seized approximately 7,441 uncertified products, mainly lead-acid batteries and automotive tires, valued at over P14 million.

The confiscated products were found to be in violation of Department Administrative Order No. 02:2007, for lack of mandatory Philippine Standard (PS) markings and Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) stickers, along with crucial manufacturer and product-related information.

The recent operation resulted in the issuance of notices of violation (NOVs) to 50 out of 198 monitored businesses, requiring them to provide a written explanation for their non-compliance within 48 hours.
