The Philippine Navy announced on Saturday that Vietnam is slated to host a high level delegation exchange visit, the Staff-to-Staff Talks (STST), in October.
The 10th Philippine Navy-Vietnam People’s Navy STST, according to Navy Spokesperson Commander John Percie Alcos, is aimed at enhancing cooperation in intelligence sharing, joint training and other strategic areas.
Vietnam Defense chief General Phan Van Giang visited the Philippine Navy on Friday and he was welcomed by Navy Flag Officer in Command Vice Admiral Toribio Adaci Jr.
“As close neighbors and partners in ASEAN, the Philippines and Viet Nam share a rich history of collaboration and cultural affinity grounded in a mutual commitment to regional peace, stability, and prosperity,” he said.
“We are indeed grateful for your visit today because it shows proof of the enduring friendship and cooperation between our nations,” Adaci added.
Adaci also highlighted during the visit the deep-rooted relationship between the two ASEAN neighbors.
“On behalf of the Philippine Navy, rest assured we will remain committed to pursuing closer ties with Viet Nam as we navigate the evolving security landscape, united in our shared vision for a secure, stable, and prosperous region,” he ended.
