President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday chaired the 8th Philippine Space Council meeting to mark Space Week, reviewing space science and technology initiatives.
Held in Quezon City, the session included updates from Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) leaders on the MULA Satellite and Pandora air quality tools.
The MULA Satellite, created in the United Kingdom with Filipino engineers, is set for a US launch between October 2025 and March 2026 via SpaceX. PhilSA has partnered with space agencies from Japan, the United Kingdom, France, South Korea, and the United States.
It has also received Pandora instruments, distributed 59,455 satellite images, and signed 12 agreements with government bodies since July 2022.
The agency introduced the Space Data Dashboard for public access to geospatial data.
Attendees included key cabinet members from the Departments of Science and Technology, Finance, Information and Communications Technology, and Trade and Industry.
