President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Friday welcomed Vice President Sara Duterte’s decision not to accept another Cabinet position after resigning as Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary.
“That’s her decision,” Mr. Marcos said at the sidelines of financial distribution to farmers and fisherfolk in Apayao province.
The President’s comments came in response to Duterte’s announcement that she would not be serving in any other Cabinet role during his administration.
Duterte left her post as the country’s Education Secretary and as chairperson of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) last month, which she did not cite any reasons for her decision.
