Malacañang confirmed that President Ferdinand Marcos has postponed his trips to Romblon and Ilocos Norte on Thursday due to inclement weather.
“We attempted to fly, but the weather conditions did not permit us to take off. Zero visibility en route to Piddig, Ilocos Norte,” Presidential Security Group Chief Brig. Gen. Nelson Morales said in a statement issued by Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Garafil.
The President’s visit to Ilocos Norte for the inauguration of Rice Processing System II was canceled due to bad weather.
The inauguration in Ilocos Norte will be rescheduled for Friday, according to PCO.
Similarly, the trip to Romblon for assistance distribution to farmers and fisherfolk affected by El Niño was called off.
Earlier, the President was able to attend an assistance distribution event in Palawan as part of the President’s July 18 itinerary.
