Marcos honors Cagayan Farm School as Top Development Partner in Region 2

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan—The Provincial Government of Cagayan received recognition from President Marcos during the Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Development Week celebration held in Malacañang last Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

Acknowledging their contributions to regional development, Mr. Marcos bestowed the ‘Presidential Recognition for Outstanding Development Partners on Enhancing Management and Labor Capacities’ on the Cagayan province.  

The honor celebrates the provincial government’s efforts in advancing agricultural innovation and supporting local small businesses through the Cagayan Farm School and Agri-Tourism Center in Brgy. Anquiray, Amulung, Cagayan.

Established under the leadership of Governor Manuel Mamba, the initiative is the first provincial government-owned farm site accredited by the Department of Tourism in the Cagayan Valley region.

Mamba, alongside Provincial Agriculturist Engr. Pearlita Mabasa and Provincial Tourism Officer Jennifer Junio-Baquiran accepted the award from President Marcos during simple rites held at the Palace.

The Cagayan Farm School and Agri-Tourism Center is instrumental in training thousands of farmers, women’s organization members, and young individuals in innovative agricultural techniques and business practices.

This unique center not only showcases the agricultural heritage of Cagayan but also provides authentic farm experiences that foster local economic growth.

According to the Cagayan Provincial Information Office, the Farm School and Agri-Tourism Center exemplify effective management and development strategies that have significantly benefited the community.

By offering cutting-edge agricultural training and promoting sustainable farming practices, the center continues to inspire and support the next generation of entrepreneurs and farmers.
