AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr. issued a directive yesterday to all  officers and enlisted personnel to attach the Philippine flag to the military’s battle dress uniform.

Public Affairs Office Chief Colonel Xerxes Trinidad said the initiative will be a visible reminder of AFP’s commitment to upholding the Philippine sovereign rights and territorial integrity.

“This aligns with the broader efforts of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr to foster national pride and unity among Filipinos.” Trinidad said in a statement.

“The announcement reflects the AFP’s effort to provide a vivid representation of its determination to carry out its mission with honor and pride,” he added.

AFP Spokesperson Colonel Margareth Padilla explained that all AFP officers and enlisted personnel are given two months to comply with Brawner’s directive.

She said that the sanctions are up to the ground commander to implement on those who fail to follow the order.
