The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) have partnered to provide in-house training to qualified agency staff through PUP’s Graduate School-Master in Applied Statistics program.

The memorandum of agreement was signed by MMDA Chairman Don Artes and PUP Vice President for Research, Extension, and Development Dr. Anna Ruby Gapasin at the agency’s main office in Pasig City.

Artes mentioned that the partnership is an opportunity for collaboration in sharing and exchanging values and academic programs.

Gapasin stated that the university is mandated to provide extension service programs to target beneficiaries and has chosen MMDA as their extension partner to offer a training program for agency staff.

Personnel from the Office of the Assistant General Manager for Planning were selected by MMDA to undergo training in Sampling Design, Parametric Statistical Inference Training, and others. Their training will take place from August to December this year. This marks the second time the MMDA and PUP have entered into a partnership.
