President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday said the proposed 30-day suspension of toll fees in the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (CAVITEX) has been approved.

In a post on his X account, the President welcomed the Toll Regulatory Board’s (TRB) approval of the toll fee suspension from July 1 to 30 this year.

“The Toll Regulatory Board composed of the Department of Transportation, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Finance, National Economic Development Authority, and the private sector has approved the recommendation to temporarily stop collecting toll fees…on all parts of CAVITEX from July 1 to July 30 this year,” Mr. Marcos said.

“We thank the TRB for their swift action on this recommendation from the Philippine Reclamation Authority. We also appreciate the MVP Group for supporting this proposal,” he added.

The suspension applies to both RFID and cash transactions across all sections of CAVITEX.
