Senator Christopher Lawrence Go assured Vice President Sara Duterte of his continued support following her decision to leave the cabinet of President Marcos.

In a statement issued late Wednesday evening, Go said he will always stand by Duterte “from then, until now, and for all the challenges that are yet to come.”

“I stand united with Vice President Inday Sara Duterte, especially in her aim to deliver what she refers to as ‘genuine compassion for our teachers and Filipino youth,’” said Go.

The former presidential assistant turned senator said he has known Duterte for a long time. Go shot to the mainstream politics because of his alliance to the Vice President’s father, former President Rodrigo Duterte.

“I have known her (Sara) since she began her public service, and to this day, she continues to demonstrate her competence, resilience, dedication, and principled service to the nation,” said Go.

Duterte tendered her resignation as Secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd) and co-Vice Chairperson of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) effective July 19.

Go thanked the Vice President for her service in the DepEd, her ongoing leader as the second highest public official of the country, and her unwavering compassion for every Filipino.

“As we always say, there is always a time for everything. This is the time to prioritize the welfare of our fellow countrymen even more. Thank you very much and keep going!!” Go told the Vice President.
