The Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairperson George Garcia said on Wednesday they got wind of reports that certain individuals have been going around and promising potential candidates in the 2025 national and local elections a “win” but to the tune of P100 million.

Warning the public of a possible bigtime “scam,” the Comelec chair said the alleged individuals give an asking price of P50 million, P70 million or P100 million to “win” in the upcoming elections.

In order to pull it off, the alleged individuals claim that they know someone inside the poll commission.

“I hope the public will help us report and arrest them. I hope you will not allow yourselves to be fooled. That is not true,” Garcia said.

He reminded the public that the rigging of elections is illegal, and there are laws to prevent them.
