Just over a month after announcing their engagement, celebrity couple Ria Atayde and Zanjoe Marudo are now officially married. The pair tied the knot in a civil wedding ceremony on Saturday, March 23, officiated by Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.
On Monday, Zanjoe took to Instagram to greet Ria on her 32nd birthday and simultaneously announced their marriage. He addressed her as “wife” in the caption and included the date “03.23.24.”
The post featured a series of photos on what appeared during the ceremony: Ria in a white gown holding a bouquet of flowers; Zanjoe in a tuxedo; a photo of a wedding cake; and a photo of the couple showered with flower petals.
Celebrity friends and family immediately extended their wishes to the newly-married couple.
“Welcome to the family, kuya,” wrote Ria’s sister, Gela Atayde.
“Uy wife!! Congrats mr & mrs marudo,” said Angelica Panganiban.
“Happy bday to your wife! And congrats you two,” commented Jake Ejercito.
“Congratulations and best wishes, Z and Ria!” wrote Eula Valdes.
TVJ host Maine Mendoza, wife of Ria’s brother, QC Rep. Arjo Atayde, also posted on her Instagram story a photo of the two hugging each other.
On Feb. 20, Ria announced her engagement to the 41-year-old on her Instagram account. In her post, Ria shared their sweet photos together as well as a snap of her hand with two beautiful rings. “Forever sounds good,” she wrote in the caption.
