PUBLIC Attorney’s Office (PAO) chief Persida Acosta has received two prestigious women’s awards for her outstanding leadership in public service.
On March 22, she received the Leadership Excellence in Delivering Proficient Legal Services citation from the Crystal International Women Award-giving body at the Okada Manila in Parañaque City on its third year.
“Thank you for this recognition. Womanhood is not just a state of being. Womanhood is also a journey of becoming—of discovering one’s talents, giftings, life purpose and identity. And from these realizations, come the appreciation of the positive changes we can
uniquely make as women,” she told the organizers and co-awardees as
the nation celebrates March as the National Women’s Month.
The PAO chief is also a recipient of the “Babae Ka Awards”” from the Gawad Pilipino Award organizer, Dr. Danilo Mangahas, at the Armed Forces of the Philippines at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City on March 22.
Other awardees included Senator Cynthia Villar; Col. Francel Margareth Padilla, first AFP woman spokesperson; showbiz personality Marietta Subong, better known as “Pokwang”; Daniela Stranner, youth advocate for anti-bullying, and Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco, among others.
“Thank you very much to Gawad Pilipino Awards for the honor of
being one of the Unique Filipinas in the Field of Public Service. I am
happy to be a part of it,” Acosta said.
“The impact and invaluable contribution of women as mothers,
sisters, partners in life, workplace professionals, entrepreneurs,
government employees, and many others.
We have many important duties to perform. So it is important that we see our value as a woman and the value of our efforts for our beloved Motherland and our loved ones,” she added.
