Filipino Carats were abuzz after Seventeen member Mingyu was spotted with Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach during a recent Bulgari event.
Carat is the term for the local fandom of the K-pop band in a nod to their 2015 song “Shining Diamond.”
Mingyu and Wurtzbach were invited as global ambassadors for the luxury brand Bulgari. Another K-pop star—Lisa of Blackpink—and Filipino actress Nadine Lustre also attended the event.
In a post on X, the beauty queen was seen posing together with the Korean idol, sending netizens into a frenzy.
“Queen P really said she wants to show the world, the universe rather, that she’s confidently beautiful with a heart,” said one user on X.
“Woooahhh crazier!! Queen Pia and Mingyu.”
“Mareng Pia, bakit di mo sinama si Nadine [Lustre] kanina nung nagpapic ka kay Mingyu?” another wrote.
The video has already gained over 69,000 views, 971 reposts, and over 1,700 likes.
Mingyu has been a Bulgari ambassador since 2021 while Wurtzbach joined the roster of the brand in 2022.
