ARMY chief Lt. Gen. Roy Galido on Friday underscored the importance of a healthy lifestyle and strict discipline among soldiers in an inspirational speech during the command’s launch of a two-day blood donation project at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

“Be reminded that our health is important not only today as active military personnel, but also after our military service,” Galido said.

Galido also emphasized the importance of discipline and a strong family “that will serve as the foundation for a strong soldier who will, in turn, form part of a strong Philippine Army.”

The two-day bloodletting drive was meant to ensure the Army has enough plasma as the exigency arises, as well as for emergency purposes  for other sectors of the society.

The Army targets to collect around 50,000 blood bags from donors, which included Army officers, enlisted personnel, reservists, and ROTC cadets, as well as civilians agencies and members of other uniformed services.
