You don’t want to pick a fight with these ladyboys.
Four Filipino men were injured after reportedly engaging in a brawl with Thai ladyboys or “kathoeys” in Bangkok, the Department of Foreign Affairs said on Wednesday.
Three of the four Filipino victims sustained scratches and bruises, DFA Usec. Eduardo Jose de Vega said.
The fourth Filipino was not part of the group and was a mere bystander at the hotel where the other three were staying. De Vega said he sustained head and facial injuries.
Thai local media reported the brawl began after several transgender Filipinos, including the three who sustained injuries, “taunted” the Thai locals on Monday morning.
Based on the report of local media Khaosod, the Thai ladyboysretaliated the next day by mobbing the Filipinos outside their hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 11 in Bangkok.
“[The Filipino travelers] signified that they want to depart Thailand ASAP (as soon as possible). Three will go to their next destination (Mumbai), another to Japan,” De Vega said.
“They requested assistance to secure medical certificate… action will be taken,” he added.
No cases have been filed against the four Filipino travelers. Thai authorities were still verifying through closed-circuit television (CCTV) videos, the DFA said.
