BuCor beefs up administrative personnel

THE Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) has beefed up its administrative force with the addition of 44 newly hired non-uniformed personnel who took their oath of office Wednesday at the New Bilibid Prisons in Muntinlupa City.

BuCor chief Gregorio Catapang Jr. told the recruits composed of 25 females and 18 males that they would be  molded in the new standard of being a BuCor family.”

“Forget whatever bad things you’re heard about the old BuCor because we are now the new BuCor in the new Philippines,” Catapang said in Filipino.

According to him, the connivance between some BuCor officials and persons deprived of liberty involved in criminality is over.

“This year will be a banner year for all of us as other government agencies and lawmakers will support us in our new unde takings,” Catapang stressed.

“We will turn around in five years time, the 51 years that the BuCor has been neglected. That is why you have to be prepared as young blood since you already have the attitude, character and education.  All you need is to hold on to your values,” Catapang added.
