Cops nab 6 suspects, seize P3 million shabu in Taguig

Police arrested six suspected drug dealers and seized shabu worth more than P3 million in a raid late Thursday night at an alleged drug den in Taguig City.  

Southern Police District director P/Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg identified the suspects as Menandro Martin, 46; Emerito Eusebio Jr., 53; Paul John Miranda, 29; Neil Corpuz, 52; Paul Santos, 34, and Nicanor Radores, 40.

Macaraeg said his men from the SPD District Drug Enforcement Unit led by P/Maj. Cecilio Tomas Jr. raided the suspects’ alleged drug den situated at 198 Amihan Street in Barangay Ususan around 10 p.m.

The police operation was conducted successfully with the help of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit, members of the Taguig City Police Sub-Station 4, and other operating units from SPD. 

Seized from the suspects were 450 grams of shabu worth P3,060,000; a .45-cal pistol, one magazine and seven live ammunition, a sling bag, drug paraphernalia, and the cash and boodle money used in the police operation.

The suspects and the evidences were brought to the SPD-DDEU Office for documentation and disposition.  

Criminal charges are set to be filed against the suspects before the city prosecutors office for violation of Republic Act 9165 and RA 10591 (gun ban) in relation with the Omnibus Election Code.

National Capital Region Police Office director P/Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad praised Macaraeg and his men for the latest accomplishment in their campaign against drug dealing in south Metro Manila.

“We commended the Southern Police District under the leadership of Gen. Macaraeg for a job well done and their passion and continuous effort in the eradication of illegal drugs in the region,” said Natividad.

“Team NCRPO enhances its battle against the proliferation of illegal drugs in the metro, we are very proud of the continuous achievements of the schemes being implemented in arresting drug personalities and confiscation of suspected illegal drugs. We appeal to the public to help us, cooperate with us and report any similar activities,” he added.
