Rains may hit areas in Mindanao on New Year’s Eve

The trough of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) is affecting some parts of the country, bringing occasional heavy rains.

PAGASA says, this weather prevails over Bukidnon, Camiguin, Compostela Valley, Davao Oriental, Davao Del Sur, Sarangani, Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur.

A trough is an extended region of relatively low atmospheric pressure.

Weather forecasters say, this condition, however, may persist for just about two to three hours.

Meanwhile, the tail-end of a cold front has weakened and is expected to evaporate within today.

This condition brings cloudy skies with light to moderate rains to Cagayan Valley and Cordillera as well as in CARAGA region and Davao.
