DOE: Power should be back in N. Luzon by Christmas

Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi hopes power supply will be restored by Christmas in regions severely affected by super typhoon ‘Lawin.’

Cusi says, the Department of Energy (DOE) and local electric cooperatives are working to bring back electricity in cities and towns in Region 1, 2 and Cordillera.

He is certain power will soon be back in Tuguegarao, Cagayan but he cannot promise the immediate restoration of electricity in Abra and Kalinga.

He explains, the destruction wreaked by ‘Lawin’ on power lines in these two provinces is more serious than in other Northern Luzon areas.
