Interpol gets hold of Kerwin Espinosa

Suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa has been turned over to the custody of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

This was announced by Philippine National Police (PNP) Spokesperson Dionardo Carlos.

Carlos said, the custody of Espinosa was transferred from the government of UAE to the international police organization and an investigation on whether or not Espinosa violated any laws in Abu Dhabi is being determined.

Carlos explained, this is part of the deportation procedures for Espinosa.

Afterwards, Espinosa will be brought to the Philippine Embassy.

Espinosa and his father, Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa, were among those tagged in August by President Rodrigo Duterte as drug lords.

Kerwin Espinosa had reportedly travelled to Palawan, Hongkong and Dubai before reaching Abu Dhabi where he was caught.
