Typhoon ‘Ferdie’ threatens Batanes and Babuyan islands

Typhoon ‘Ferdie’ is now threatening Batanes and Babuyan group of islands.

At 10 am on Tuesday, ‘Ferdie’ was located 340 kilometers east southeast of Basco, Batanes.

The typhoon carries maximum sustained winds of 215 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 250 kph.

‘Ferdie’ is forecast to move west northwest at 23 kph.

PAGASA predicts the typhoon will be in the vicinity of Batanes on Wednesday morning.

Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal number 4 is up over Batanes.

Signal number 3 is up over Babuyan group of islands.

Signal number 2 is up over Ilocos Norte, Apayao and Northern Cagayan.

Signal number 1 is up over the rest of Cagayan, Northern Isabela, Kalinga, Abra and Northern Ilocos Sur.
