Duterte airs anger with De Lima

President Rodrigo Duterte aired his anger with a lady senator.

At first, however, he did not directly name the lawmaker.

The President initially said, the person’s boyfriend had supposedly received drug money on her behalf during the campaign, but he did not say where these funds came from.

Duterte also said, the legislator had once criticized Davao police and had talked about the alleged Davao death squad.

The President seemed to be irked by the senator’s comments on his administration’s campaign against drugs.

He made these statements in his speech at the 115th Anniversary of police service in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

In a press conference in NAIA right after the ceremony at the PNP Headquarters, Duterte identified Senator Leila de Lima as the government official he was referring to.

The President is known to have a spat with De Lima.

The senator is asking the President to avoid bringing down their disagreement to a low level.
