Raids in 2 Cebu jails yield over P 4M worth of cash

Simultaneous anti-drug raids have been conducted inside two jails in Cebu City.

The operations in Cebu City Jail and Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center resulted in the confiscation of P 4.5-million worth of cash, about half a kilo of shabu, flat screen tv sets and other prohibited items.

This is the first time raids were done in these facilities.

Agents from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) enforced the operations at about 1 am Saturday.

The jails have reportedly been turned into drug dens.

There are about 3,000 inmates in these 2 facilities.
