Motorists can now enjoy smoother travel along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) as all four lanes of the Marilao Northbound section were reopened to vehicles at 1 a.m. today, March 26, 2025.
This development comes ahead of the projected timeline, marking a significant milestone in the repair efforts following damage sustained by the Marilao Bridge.
While the lanes are now fully passable, steel poles will temporarily remain on-site to support the concrete curing process for the bridge.
Officials assure that traffic flow in the area is expected to improve and normalize within the next few days.
The repairs were necessitated by damage caused on March 19 when a truck violated regulations, leading to structural issues on the Marilao Bridge.
In response, NLEX implemented immediate traffic adjustments to ensure safety while facilitating repairs.
Originally slated for completion within two weeks, NLEX accelerated its efforts by deploying teams to work round-the-clock and expediting the delivery of fabricated steel components required for the restoration.
The NLEX management expressed gratitude to the public for their patience and understanding during the repair period.
