Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested two persons and confiscated a total of P68 million worth of shabu in two separate operations in Las Piñas City on Saturday afternoon.

In a report sent to reporters on Sunday, PDEA said suspect Shaikalabi Mimbalawag, 23, resident of Quiapo, Manila was arrested around 5 p.m., leading to the seizure of five kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, along C5 Extension in Barangay Manuyo I, Las Piñas City.

The anti-drug operatives also arrested another drug personality identified as Arabilla Leono, 29, and confiscated another five kilos of shabu in a follow-up operation in Countryhomes, Woodsrow-1, Talon Dos, also in Las Piñas.

Aside from the 10 kilos of shabu worth P68 million concealed in Chinese labeled tea packs, the PDEA agents also recovered the buy-bust money used in the operation and the vehicle used by the suspect.

Confiscated pieces of drug evidence were brought to the PDEA Laboratory Service for qualitative and quantitative analysis.

The suspects who are now temporarily detained at the PDEA jail facility, will be charged for violation of the Republic Act 9165, also known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
