Franz Pumaren may be considering plans to retire. But, he will remain head coach of the Adamson University Falcons for another two years.

Pumaren received a two-year contract that starts 2021.

The 57-year-old Pumaren has been handling the Falcons for the last five years.

He will once again be joined by Renren Ritualo, Don Allado, and Tonichi Yturri, who will be his assistant coaches.

On the other hand, another deputy, Jack Santiago, has left, and will coach University of the East Warriors.

The Falcons have a number of prospects for the coming season of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines.

Seven new faces, that include Adrian Punzalan, RS Delos Reyes, Andrei Abellara, Joaquin Jaymalin, RV Yanes, Jhon Calisay and Mario Barasi, are under observation and may play for Falcons in the coming school year.

Pumaren, who coached the La Salle Green Archers to five titles, including a four-peat from 1998 to 2001, considered stepping out of the limelight following the postponement of season 83.

Thoughts of concentrating on his position as a councilor in the third district of Quezon City was on his mind.

The Falcons will try to bounce back from their worst finish after reaching the Final Four for three straight years. The Falcons struggled to a sixth-place performance. It’s the worst finish for the Falcons since Pumaren started handling the team in 2015.

Pumaren earlier vowed that the Falcons will improve after that dour finish. He considered retirement after the COVID-19 pandemic sidelined the UAAP season.
