Advertising professional to represent PH at Mr. Gay World 2020

Leonard Kodie Macayan bested 14 candidates and snagged the Mr. Fahrenheit 2020 title during the finals held at F Club Philippines, in Quezon City last month. 

Macayan, 30-year-old, graduate of Fine Arts, major in Advertising and works as an Account Manager, will be the country’s representative at the 12th Mr. Gay World pageant to be held in Knysna, South Africa in May 2020.

Macayan, who hails from Quezon City, also bagged the best in national costume and best in formal wear special awards. He was crowned by reigning Mr. Gay World, Janjep Carlos of the Philippines.

Delio Gonzales, a 38-year-old, teacher from Makati City, was named first runner-up, while Richard Farinas, a 30-year-old, businessman from Cavite was second runner-up. Kelvin Kai Angala, 25, a Mass Communication graduate from San Pedro, Laguna and Virgilio Llego, 26, model from Argao, Cebu finished as third and fourth runners-up, respectively.

Leonard Kodie Macayan, 30, will wear the Philippine sash at this year’s edition of Mr. Gay World scheduled to take place in South Africa in May.

The Mr. Fahrenheit 2020 was directed by Rodgil Flores and is an annual presentation of the Mr. Gay World Philippines Organization (MGWPO), headed by Wilbert Ting Tolentino. It aims to eradicate stereotypes from public perception, combat sexual prejudice for equality, as well as to promote the HIV/AIDS Early Detection Program and erase the stigma of testing and discrimination attached to the disease.

MGWPO, through the pageant, hopes to use its influence for the advancement of HIV/AIDS treatment and research, and use its winners to be the voice of any medical breakthrough.
