Florangel Rosario Braid, a teacher, writer, and member of the ConCom that drafted the 1987 Constitution, displays her paintings at the Sunshine Place.
As an artist, she uses her vast experience to paint on popular subjects such as mother and child, historical sites, and on issues she is passionate about—seeking peaceful solutions to conflict, the rights of nature, bridging gaps that divide us, advocating for sanctuaries of silence and a more balanced order.
The ideals of truth, human rights and freedom are interwoven in the beautiful art pieces she has crafted. Some have drawn inspiration from the memory of her late husband Andrew, and son Ferdie, who suggested some of the themes and prepared titles and captions.
The exhibit is done in collaboration with her mentor, Art Association of the Philippines president Fidel Sarmiento. Braid also acknowledges the assistance of Robert Fernandez, Tere Buiser, and Che de Vega, as well as the staff of Sunshine Place who helped curate and manage the exhibit.
