How travel has changed

And how accommodations adjusted

Travel, much like most things these days, has changed in so many ways. Hygiene and safety has become a top priority of travelers, booking flexibility and activities on offer are another things considered prior to planning a getaway.

In preparation for the gradual resumption of domestic travel, a booking platform works closely with its hotel partners to highlight properties strictly adhering to local health and safety protocols and offering policies that promote traveler safety and convenience.

It follows sanitation measures based on COVID-19 standards

To make it easier for travelers to know the hygiene and sanitation policies being implemented by hotels, Agoda has developed the HygienePlus badge. The HygienePlus feature also allows guests to learn about hotels offering contactless check-in and check-out, and hotels that have a doctor or nurse on call at all times to attend to guests.

Property provides flexible cancellation policies

With ever-changing travel protocols, having the option to make last-minute booking cancellations is a must. Agoda’s EasyCancel feature, created in response to customers’ need for flexible booking arrangements, allows guests to cancel bookings up to 24 hours before arrival at no charge. Travelers just need to look for the Agoda EasyCancel badge when making reservations.

Offering last-minute booking options

According to Agoda search data, the Philippines is the 8th market in the Asia Pacific region with the most people searching same-day travel. GoLocal Tonight lets travelers have that extra flexibility for when they need last-minute accommodations – deals of up to 30 percent off are also available.

Hotels offering such option include Kandaya Resort in Cebu for those looking to enjoy good food by the beach, and Escala Tagaytay which offers a romantic setup in guest rooms.

Extended stay is possible

Work from the hotel or from the mountains or from the beach have become sought-after options for many homebound employees. While others, either looking for a change of scenery or other reasons, are opting for extended stays.

Travelers can now book long-term stays up to 90 days via Agoda. Hotels like Segara Residences in Subic provides a cozy home away from home with its tastefully designed interiors complete with a kitchenette for guests, thereby reducing the number of times they have to leave the room for meals.
