Taking a selfie with the President Rodrigo Duterte, boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao or even the late pop icon Michael Jackson is no longer an impossible dream. The thing is these iconic figures will come in the form of wax.
Living up to its reputation as the country’s top entertainment and amusement company, Zoomanity Group is in the process of developing one of the most awaited attractions in the Philippines, the Wax Muzooeum.
No less than Zoomanity chairman and CEO Robert Yupangco led the unveiling of the wax replica of Michael Jackson during the recent Travel and Tour Operators Day at the Makati Sports Club.
It served as a sneak peak to more than 100 local and international icons that will be featured in the Wax Muzooeum and is expected to be completed in December next year.
The Wax Muzooeum will feature a diverse range of personalities from Philippine national heroes like Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio, former presidents and international celebrities.
The museum will also feature the different ethnic groups of the Philippines to bring awareness about several indigenous tribes that have managed to keep their cultural identity alive.
Why does it take so long to complete the project?
Yupangco said the figures are being made in different countries such as Netherelands, China, Britain, Taiwan and the United States and one wax figure costs around P2 million.
“And it takes about six months to finish one figure.” He said he’s now talking with the groups of SM and Ayala for the venue of the museum in Metro Manila.
Zoomanity is the company behind the Zoobic Zafari in Subic, Zambales, Zoocobia in Clark and other major kid-friendly and family oriented theme parks around the country.
