The Hong Kong Tourism Board invites you to celebrate the city’s biggest and most colorful festival at the Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade at Tsim Sha Tsui today. This highly received entertainment event, now on its 22nd edition, features a series of world-class performances including the famous street dance display of Davao’s Kadayawan festival.

KADAYAWAN IN HONG KONG. The Indak Indak Kadalanan of Davao’s Kadayawan festival will be performed during Hong Kong’s Chinese New Year Night parade.

The Kadayawan festival is a thanksgiving harvest festival, which showcases Davao’s rich culture, diversity and the unification of the province’s resident indigenous groups. The main highlight of the Kadayawan festival is the Indak-Indak Kadalanan or street dancing, now Hong Kong presents it as part of the line-up in the Chinese New Year celebration with the theme, “Best Fortune. World Party.”

The festivity begins with a fun-filled, interactive street party, followed by a parade with spectacular floats and a wide variety of local and international performing talent, including marching bands, cheerleaders, dance troupes, and roving costumed characters.

Welcome the New Year like the locals do by visiting some of Hong Kong’s flower markets with their array of colorful blooms like aromatic orchids plus endless inventive offerings from the stallholders. And don’t miss out on the stunning fireworks display over Victoria Harbour between Central and Tsim Sha Tsui on Jan. 29.

Philippine pride, Siningtala dance troupe will showcase their flair at the Kadayawan street dance performance at Tsim Sha Tsui, along with some of the most talented groups from all over the world.

Welcome the Year of the Rooster in the grandest way ever, because the best celebrations of all are definitely in Hong Kong.
