Discovery World Corp. and its subsidiary Discovery Hospitality Corp. broke ground on Kip&Kin Siargao on Jan. 10, expanding the group’s hospitality portfolio in the Philippines.
The development, under Lucky Cloud 9 Resort Inc., will rise on a 7,000-square-meter site in General Luna, near Cloud 9, one of the island’s top surfing destinations. It will feature 34 hotel rooms, 48 hostel beds, and retail spaces, catering to both younger travelers and families.

Discovery World Corp. Chairman and CEO John Y. Tiu, Jr. said the project aims to reflect Siargao’s culture and contribute to the local economy.
“Kip&Kin is more than just a place to stay; it’s a lifestyle brand where guests can immerse themselves in the energy of Siargao’s vibrant culture and natural splendor,” he said.

The Siargao property, set to open in 2027, is part of Discovery Hospitality’s expansion, which includes future Kip&Kin locations in Vanilla Beach El Nido and San Vicente, Palawan.
The groundbreaking was attended by representatives from the Land Bank of the Philippines, Sterling Struktures Inc., H1 Architecture, Design HQ, and AVAC Project and Construction Managers Corp., marking the start of construction.
