To help the public become more aware of the dangers of stroke, its prevention and the importance of getting emergency help, Angels Initiative and Stroke Society of the Philippines on Feb. 11 are staging a webinar on the basic information about the disease.
Stroke is the second leading cause of death worldwide and in the Philippines. If not treated in a timely manner, a stroke can have emotional, physical, or even fatal consequences.
“Stroke 101: Knowing the basics of stroke is a way of loving oneself” will feature neurologists Dr. Romulo Esagunde and Dr. Maria Socorro Sarfati who will help shed light on what stroke is, its types and symptoms, what one can do to minimize its risk factors, and what a person must do when they or their loved ones are experiencing the signs of stroke.
It will air on Stroke Society of the Philippines’ official Facebook page at 7:00 p.m. The event is open to the public. It will be hosted by Boy Abunda.
