Indoor cycling is easily one of the top fitness trends in the country today and it’s easy to understand why. For a group exercise class, it’s rather efficient. For 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the class you take, you’ll be sweating buckets while working on your cardio. Add to that the powerful, upbeat music in the background, as well as a motivating instructor, you’ve got yourself calorie-torching party.

Getting your lungpower up isn’t the only benefit you’ll get from indoor cycling—it’s also a full body workout particularly targeting your core and lower body. “It is a high-intensity but low-impact workout that involves full body movements,” explains Eric Seegers, National Fitness manager of Fitness First.

Variety is another aspect that makes indoor cycling classes a hit among fitness buffs. Riders are put through levels of intensity with a combination of various body positions, pedaling speed, and resistance. Classes also mimic outdoor biking situations like uphill climbs, downhill rides, and quick sprints.

Fitness First offers a range of group cycling classes to its members

Fitness First offers numerous group cycling classes for its members who are looking for variety in their workouts for free as part of the membership package. They currently have three different classes that cater to different fitness levels.

RPM allows a fun workout aided by powerful music involving short, quick bursts of sprinting, that gradually slows down to longer stretches of pedaling. Meanwhile, the RPM™ Challenge is a more intense type of class with shorter recoveries guaranteed to give riders a strength and endurance workout.

There’s also the Fitness First Signature Cycling Class – Pro 45 for those looking to level up their spinning and become a stronger, more efficient rider. Sharpen up riding technique and work through a series of specific preparation drills to get you ready for the final race. Develop strength, speed, power and endurance, and improve overall athletic performance with an enhanced flexibility regime at the end to optimize recovery. Elements of track racing and road cycling make this class an authentic and holistic riding experience.

Members who do the different indoor cycling classes at Fitness First really enjoy the workouts.  “What I like about Fitness First’s spinning classes is that they offer it in different intensities, which easily fits how I feel and how much I can push on certain days,” says one Fitness First member of Platinum Alabang. “The equipment is really top notch and the instructors also ensure we’re doing everything with the correct form.”

Fitness First clubs nationwide are upgrading their indoor cycling equipment to the latest Stages Cycling “SC3” bikes. Dubbed as “the ultimate studio bike,” the SC3 is ergonomically engineered for maximum function for riders. SC3 is the choice of elite cycling clubs worldwide because it’s equipped with unique features such as Stages Sprintshift, FitLoc, and Fore Aft that allows indoor cyclists to be in complete control of their rides and assists in their next best performance. The SC3 is also the only stationary bike that uses Stages Power Meter, used for accurate direct power measurement for indoor cycling progress allowing riders to monitor and measure their performance and ultimately follow a workout that’s more precise to their fitness goals.

Aside from its indoor cycling classes, Fitness First also has other group workouts designed to get you in the best shape for your everyday life. Find out more about their programs by logging on to www.fitnessfirst.com.ph/all-classes/
