Four years after her sold-out solo exhibit in 2013, landscape photographer, Leslie Dizon, recently launched Ember and Ice at the Dizon Corporate Center on 116 Esteban Abada St. Varsity Hills Subdivision, Loyola Heights, QC.

The exhibition parallels Dizon’s inner journey of triumph over hesitation, and coasting along safe shores.

As a landscape photographer for eight years now, Dizon’s constant longing for aesthetic stimulus helped hone her craft while shooting around picturesque locations in various parts of the Philippines.

‘This year I felt it was time to get out of my comfort zone and start participating in photo tours outside the Philippines. I have always wanted to visit Iceland since I came across the Blue Lagoon Hot Springs in a fashion spread back in college,’ shared Dizon.

She added, ‘It caught my fascination and adventurous spirit. At the same time, a friend of mine introduced me to the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis. Before the digital age, hardly anyone knew about it except maybe those who admired its perfect spirals in Van Gogh’s “Starry Night.”

Coincidentally, around the time that Dizon had upgraded to her dream camera, she was invited to join the Iceland photography tour. But already on a financial downturn with the investment she made, her partner gladly pitched and a mentor encouraged her to pursue. Everything simply aligned.

Ember and Ice is all about keeping one’s earnest desires burning and making things happen. It is taking a leap of faith, saying yes to opportunity and allowing immense fulfillment to take place. Having experienced the merging of fine art and the mystical world of Iceland, Dizon is sure to set a renewed excitement in the beauty and strength of Mother Nature, and a fiery inspiration to follow one’s dreams.
