Sunshine Place offers a unique opportunity for aspiring children’s story writers, regardless of their writing experience. The “How to Write Children’s Stories” crash course will take place on June 22 and 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Led by esteemed Filipino children’s author Dr. Joem Antonio, known for his extensive contributions to the field and a Ph.D. in Creative Writing from UP Diliman, the course promises to equip participants with essential skills.

Dr. Antonio, an eight-time Palanca Award winner and faculty member at the University of Asia and the Pacific, has crafted a comprehensive syllabus for this workshop.

The course welcomes individuals of all backgrounds, emphasizing that no prior writing experience or innate talent is necessary. Starting from 8 years old and older, participants will delve into various aspects of children’s literature, including identifying target audiences, fundamental story design principles, and practical exercises aimed at swiftly crafting compelling narratives.
