The Transforming Advocates and Champions (TRAC), a non-profit organization that provides holistic development training to foster transformational and purpose-driven leaders, invited student journalists nationwide for the 2nd National Convention on Campus Journalism at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel in Manila.
Held in partnership with the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy, the three-day conference provided an avenue for 338 delegates from 63 Philippine colleges and universities. They enhanced their skills in different types of writing, from news and editorial, business and lifestyle, to features and sports. Their mastery in photography, cartooning, and vlogging was honed.
The program featured a series of plenary talks and workshops that delved into the diverse fields of journalism. The sessions were facilitated by industry experts, including Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) veteran sports anchor Sev Sarmenta, esteemed TV presenter Boy Abunda, Filipina civic leader and environment and peace advocate Samira Gutoc, and radio DJ and television host DJ JhaiHo.
The tilt showcased their specialties in their respective areas. Recognitions were bestowed on the noteworthy outputs.
