A legislator said Monday his office was all set to launch a program for the free distribution of Ivermectin to help the government in solving the continued increase in COVID 19 infections in various parts of the country.

Anakalusugan Rep. Michael Defensor says the program will initially cater to the residents of Quezon City.

He says the residents, particularly the poor people, will have an “access” to Ivermectin.

“It will be given for free to those who are in need and there will be priorities among the city residents”, Defensor said.

He says the residents who are sick and senior citizens will be the priority.

Other residents will also get Ivermectin later on in order to end their worries.

Due to the limited stocks of Ivermectin, Defensor’s office will ensure that those who need an urgent solution to address the COVID 19 problem will receive their Ivermectin.

Defensor says a big number of doctors and nurses in the Philippines who have already taken Ivermectin will give them sufficient protection from the COVID-19.
