Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte on Monday said only half of city residents surveyed would want to receive vaccination for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Out of 74,793 residents asked in a poll conducted by the city government, only 37,899 or 50.7 percent are willing to get jabs against COVID-19, she said.
About 10,819 residents did not want to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, while 26,725 residents were undecided.
“Many are still willing to be vaccinated here in Quezon City. We still need to convince those undecided,” Belmonte said.
She said the city government has already launched its vaccination campaign to encourage more people to receive the shot.
