Police arrested in Pateros two men suspected to be engaged in drug trafficking and bank fraud.

The authorities also seized 20 grams of shabu worth P130,000; 160 ecstasy tablets worth of P200,000 and devices used to clone debit and bank cards from suspects Stephen Yap Jao, 42, and Allen Custodio, 28.

A composite team from the National Capital Region Police Office, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Southern Police District conducted the entrapment operation late last week along Hermosa Street in Barangay San Roque.

NCRPO commander Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said they conducted the entrapment following a series of intelligence information gathering and surveillance operation against the suspects.

“Our operatives were able to positively identify the suspects and their scheme,” he said.

Danao said one of his men acted as a buyer and was able to transact with the suspects resulting in their arrest.

The suspects are now detained at the Pateros detention facility and were charged with violation of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, and 15 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), Credit Card Frauds, and Usurpation of Authority.

Danao commended the collective effort made by the NCRPO operatives and the men from PDEA and SPD.

“The cooperation of various agencies to curb illegal drugs and other criminal activities in the country is really a big thing,” said Danao.
