The Taguig City government, in partnership with the Department of Transportation and Department of Public Works and Highways, installed more bike racks and repair stations across the city to ensure safety and convenience for cyclists.

The initiative has already installed forty Inverted-U Bike Racks and eight fully-equipped repair stations, each accompanied by protective sheds.

Mayor Laarni Cayetano said her administration is currently working on installing an additional 69 Inverted-U bike racks to establish a comprehensive network of support for the cycling community.

The bike racks will be installed in key areas such as health facilities, parks and plazas, barangay halls, and other public properties.

The project highlights Taguig City’s commitment to promoting sustainable transportation and enhancing urban mobility for all its residents, the mayor said.

Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa earlier commended the efforts made by the Taguig City government to mainstream biking.

Herbosa first saw the bike lanes as an adviser of the COVID-19 Task Force that visited the Taguig Lakeshore facility in Bicutan.

The Taguig Community Bike Ride is an annual event that promotes a healthy and active lifestyle through biking.
